Oh shit, Lucien bailed.

Sooooooooo...apologies for all the text but Lucien's a bit of a talker. The level adjustments were a bit screwy this time but I hope the text isn't too bad.

Anyway, this scene's got about a page left, and then I'll be introducing a couple new characters and moving on to the part I've been waiting to do: Vance's training and costume hunting!

I love how he's like I'm just gonna lean and chill on this wall with a knife sticking out of my belly. I wonder when he will realize that he can take it out. Oh, I wonder if he has fast healing abilities like Wolverine. ^_^

Fast healing,, indeed! I'm not sure if it's as powerful as Wolverine's, but he does save a lot of money on bandages!

Hahah! "Practical masochism."
I'm gonna miss Lucien! But it was pretty cool of him to at least stick around this long and explain things. I love how Vance /still/ hasn't bothered to take the knife out, haha.
New characters? Costume hunt? Hype!:D
(Oh, the text is perfectly fine and readable!)

Times like this I feel like Lucien's a sort of personified exposition device mixed in with a mysterious and stoic know-it-all...only, you know, not a total dick about it.

It would be funny if I just kept the knife in the whole time, but something tells me that would be incredibly inconvenient for him.

The term "Blessed With Suck" comes to mind...

The text is fine (if a little small).

Great page, overall!

Could be worse, I guess, in regards to both comments. I know I write a lot sometimes but I didn't want to stretch this over two pages needlessly either.

At least he isn't that guy in Megamind who's weak to copper.

I find his power pretty cool actually. Not many superheroes feel a surge of power after being stabbed. Unless you're Superman, a stab to the gut would most likely hurt.

I guess you could find a way to forge a Kryptonite sword or something, that'll show that smug tights-wearing boy scout!
machinehead 30th Dec 2014, 5:54 PM edit delete reply
The pranks he could pull with his powers alone would make it all worth it.

Insurance fraud also comes to mind.

To power up, he needs to get hurt, or hit someone and gets some energy from the recoils, interesting concept.
When I first saw the page, I thought, whoa a lot of text! But as I read the entire page, I understand it was a good idea to place all the explaination of his power on one page, so a reader doesn't have to flip pages.

To me there felt like a little too much for one page but not enough for two, especially when I already had the page breaks planned out. I had to compromise.

I hope this isn't the last time we see Lucien, I was really warming up to him :<

I really like the second and third panels. I like the way they look.

Nothing more to say than that XD
